2-3 Moab, Utah/Arches National Park

Take the scenic route to Moab on a leisurely raft trip down the Colorado River into Utah’s canyon country. Picnic along the riverbanks, then continue by raft to our lodge, set among rust-hued cliffs.
Rise early the following morning and explore Arches National Park. Go on a series of short hikes to discover some of its 2,000 sandstone arches, and sit down to a picnic with a gorgeous natural backdrop. Visit Dead Horse Point State Park, a promontory high above a picturesque gooseneck in the Colorado River.

4-5 Canyonlands National Park/Monument Valley

Visit Newspaper Rock State Historical Monument, where a stunning concentration of more than 650 ancient petroglyphs adorn a sandstone rock face. Continue on to the Needles District in the southeast corner of Canyonlands, and hike among colourfully striped sandstone spires. Enjoy a picnic, then retreat for the night to the historic town of Bluff. The next day, get immersed in one of the most iconic landscapes of the American West—Monument Valley. Join native guides on a jeep tour of the valley floor, hear the Navajo perspective on the area’s history, and enjoy a traditional Navajo lunch.

6 Mesa Verde National Park, Colorado/Durango

Set off on a breath-taking drive through Canyons of the Ancients National Monument, and arrive at the UNESCO World Heritage site of Mesa Verde National Park—a complex network of ancient Ancestral Puebloan dwellings. Discover the remarkable culture that built these villages and imposing cliff dwellings, and view the famous Cliff Palace—constructed out of natural sandstone, wooden beams, and mortar. This afternoon continue to the historic railroad town of Durango, and cap off your adventure with a farewell dinner.
